The tale of a courageous woman's defiance during World War I, filled with espionage and life under occupation. In 1914, Margriet Ballegeer, a young Belgian woman, joined the resistance to hinder the German occupation. Despite risks, Margriet, aged 24, joined local resistance and later a broader network run by British Intelligence. She obtained identity papers and passports, aiding young men's escape to the Allies. Margriet served as a courier, using her shop as a cover. Arrested in 1915 for forgery, she spent six months in prison but remained dedicated. In 1917, arrested again, she was charged with spying and sentenced to death. This is her story.
